They're sure making the upcoming overnight sound scary around here. Nothing like the hardest hit places of course, but serious flooding somewhere between possible and likely. Needless to say, that's not the kind of thing we have a lot of experience with. We're gonna need a bigger boat. Or any boat for that matter.

Ida was no joke around here. Big tornadoes and massive floods everywhere. Miraculously the creek in my back yard stayed in its banks. Good luck tonight bubba.

Holy shit, people. The rain feels absolutely biblical here and we are nowhere near the center of this storm. I can't even imagine how bad it is in the NYC/NJ/Philly area. Tornadoes in the Bronx???!! Stay safe everyone.

CNN just reported that the storm is NOW moving into New England. So what's been happening for the past 8 hours? Yikes! The pics from NY/NJ/PA are unbelievable.

Good thanks. Lots of scary rain - hard to believe that the seriously hit places had more than that but no real damage here or in the immediate surroundings.

Wednesday when I got up I started working on my formula and neglected to look at the weather. So when it came time to go to work, off I went. I hadn't hit the ponr when it hit. I tried to continue but had to pull over. After it cleared a little I continued on hoping my yards wouldn't be too wet, but then again I am "Swamp Cuts" ( I don't do hair but I do do bushes)* So I did what I could and headed home not knowing how bad the storm had been at the house. Just past where the road ends and my drive way starts and the curves to the right a tree had fallen. Damn and I was just about home and my chain saw ain't working. So I got out and grabbed cindi, that's what I call my loppers, and was able to cut a tunnel through the tree. Finally, beer time. I forgot to mention the tree to the Mrs but remembered as i was leaving the next morning. I didn't want to wake her so I measured the tunnel to see if she could get out, cut a couple of limbs and off I went, thinking she'd call me if she couldn't figure it out. She never called but when I got home yesterday she wanted to know what I was going to do about it. " I kinda like it. It reminds me of the Bat Tunnel from the original series and besides I ain't got no chain saw dear"
Stay safe y'all!

Philly area was hit with 7 tornadoes and some places had 10 inches of rain in about 12 hours on Wednesday and much of center city Philly is still under water two days later, and we're about 1,200 miles from where Ida came ashore. For context, it would normally take like a decade for us to see 7 tornadoes around here. Crazy.

well, not sure the 'planet' (and its inhabitants) would be fine w/ raging fires and massive episodic flooding and rising sea levels and dying coral reefs and deforestation yadada like we're seeing but whatever.

As a registered republican I think these scientist are in cahoots.with the democrats and this so called storm is just a plot to scare us into spending money at home depot. Still Mrs Swamp.made me put Lieske and Bonnies dog houses on poles.

The only time I went scuba diving in my life was 20 years ago on the Great Barrier Reef. It was amazing. I'm so glad I was able to do it. I packed in a lot of adventure before I got sick.

Surely you're building them a doggie elevator, aren't you? Thinking of you guys and hoping the predictions are an overstatement. Stay safe.

Jeez, that's all I need is for her to read this!
Last Nov my bank sold out to some Yankee bank from Penn sending our finances into some black hole.
Yesterday i worked until about 10:30 when it started drizzling. On my way home I thought I'd get some banking done.
Nope! They were closed even though the Waffle House next door was open. Evidently PNC has no clue how the warning system works here in Florida.

We're good. No hard rain here, just a lot of wind gust. It was off the coast when it past us.
