Why the hell not? I'll go first.

I remember this guy used the largest catcher's mitt in the history of the game when he had to catch Phil Niekro's knuckleball.

Zoilo Versailles. Won a fluke MVP and then was forced to sell the trophy years later. Sad. I guess i need to explain these days that he was forced to sell for economic hardship reasons, not some reggie bush like pseudo (or real) scandal.

Sanguillen and Sixto! Sixto could hit.

These are great. I even recognize the design of some of the cards from my mid-70's collecting days.

I'm going to take "obscure" out of the thread title so we can throw out any ball players from the 60s-80's era. Keep 'em coming.

In '85 he was pretty good for the O's.

Let's not forget Lyman Bostock.

Who got verb-ized in our early days fantasy league when we had a rule covering the possibility that a player might get "bostocked".

Absolutely. He used to be spotted at Royals games from time to time.

OMG, remember what a sensation he was? Vida mania, followed a decade or so later by fernando mania. Somehow strasburg mania just doesn't seem the same.

Ichiro Suzuki uses his first name(but it gets weird with names from Asian descent)

Chili Davis used "Chili" on the back of his jersey when he played for the Giants
