This forum is for talking about non-music-related stuff that the DBT fanbase might be interested in. This is not the place for inside jokes and BS. Take that crap to some other board.

First theater experience in over a year, and it was well worth the price of admission. On a side note: Jason Isbell did a fantastic job in his first real supporting role, while Sturgill Simpson played a nice Henry Grammer as well.

Seriously subversive & dark for a kids film, perhaps that is why I still love it so.

The origin story with Chalamet? No, I haven't. I haven't seen a theatrical release in almost 2 years, and only 2 since the Before Times.

The Boys in the Boat - Good, entertaining, more or less by the numbers true life underdog tale. The 3 people w/ me had all read the book and were disappointed that various plot lines were dropped for the movie but all agreed it was probably for the best in terms of keeping the movie manageable.

Oppenheimer - it would get "5 stars" just for being a movie by, about and for adults. That it happens to be really good is a bonus. The moviemaking skills in bringing a not-so-obvious-basis-for-a - major-motion-picture story to the screen w/ that level of quality is very, very impressive.

Barbie - The movie was worth seeing and i mostly appreciated the enormous, ambitious task that Gerwig undertook for herself but i don't think she totally brought it off. Again, gotta appreciate a movie by and for adults and Margot Robbie is terrific in a very difficult role to get right (but i probably would have said that even before seeing the movie, lol). i guess at the end of the movie i wasn't sure that the feminist message had come through that clearly or compellingly but it's not like i missed the point completely. A for effort, A+ for scope and ambition, B for entertainment value.

I just finished his Director's Cut of Nymphomaniac. Not recommended for viewing with your parental units (no, I didn't)
