Re: For All the Steve Albini Fans in the Audience
first off, i think EC has a point about that particular record, a great record that Albini rung completely dry. but EC's aesthetic is far from Albini's so i don't really care about the rest of his opinions on Steve's recorded work, which i think speaks for itself.
you want a good drum sound? go see Steve. this record sounds ridiculously fantastic. listen to the layers... everything is crisp, precise and in your face. perfect.

The thing is neither the PJ or Bruce records are like audio valium unlike a lot of Elvis' records after the first 3. Judging by the amount of releases, Elvis is lacking a self edit mode entirely.

Makes you wonder, doesn't it? What does EC gain from this? (Or what is the background story for his grudge against SA?, perhaps SA said something about EC and friends?). Talking shit about other people in the business... there is no such thing as objective criteria or taste in music. So what, you dont like what you hear, other people may do, why bother going public with it?

it's fun to talk shit sometimes. Albini made it an art form in the 80s. you ever read any of his reviews in Matter or Forced Exposure?RolanK wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 7:18 amMakes you wonder, doesn't it? What does EC gain from this? Not saying he is any better than the others, and yes I have noticed has got strong opinions himself. lol. It was more of a philosophical question from my side.tinnitus photography wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 11:19 amit's fun to talk shit sometimes.
