RIP to the Wacko From Waco.

When I was a kid my dad a VHS tape filled with music performances from artists he liked that he recorded off one of the 4-5 television channels we had. There were several Austin City Limits episodes on there and one of them was Billy Joe Shaver. He'd sit around drinking beer and watch that tape all the time....like every week. I was familiar with Black Rose and Willy The Wandering Gypsy when I was four or five years old. The show had a big impact on me and Billy Joe has been one of my touchstones for a long time.

This really makes me sad. RIP, Billy Joe. You were good.
