R.I.P - Paul Barrere - Little Feat

Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

R.I.P - Paul Barrere - Little Feat

Post by Howlinwolf »

Found out another one of my fav musicians has passed. He was fighting an illness which sidelined him from the recent Little Feat tour. Very sad. Actually met him once in the early 80's at Tipitina's in NOLA, we were both at a Radiators gig, and the Rads just finished a smoking version of "Spanish Moon" to close the first set, when Dave Malone (guitarist / vocals) said to me " Hey man, that is Paul Barrere over there" so we both went over to say hello. He was impressed with the version the Rads pulled off. Rest in peace

Damn, hate to hear this. I knew he was ill and had missed some recent shows but I had no idea it was this serious. Classy dude and a helluva guitar player from one of the greatest American bands

It's so easy to focus on the early loss of Lowell George and overlook how excellent Paul Barrere's playing is. Little Feat was a band.
The sooner we put those assholes in the grave&piss on the dirt above it, the better off we'll be
