R.I.P. Eddie Money

Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

My pops died at the same age of a similar illness. Sad as fuck.

From all accounts, he was a hell of a guy.

He was playing a concert in Rochester, MN (real close to where I'm at) about 10-15 years ago. A family friend was going to the show, and ran into him while having lunch. He approached Eddie, and thanked him for coming to Rochester. They start bullshitting, and Eddie asks what he's doing the next day. Friend says he's going boating. Eddie asks if he can go with. Friend says sure, and gives him directions thinking it's a joke. Sure enough, the next day Eddie Money is waiting at the dock (he had 3 days before the next show) and went boating with them. They hit it off, and remained friends. Any time he was passing through the Upper Midwest, he'd get ahold of them and hook them up with tickets, backstage passes, and hang out. Just a real humble, laid back guy.

Shakin' will always be a bad ass song.

I saw him maybe 15 years ago. Just one of those "sure I'll go...what the hell.." type of shows. I was very pleasantly surprised, dude put on a solid show. RIP.....just like ronnie sang...

I worked a show of his in 2014.
Dude was the absolute coolest. Super laid back, very kind & humble.
He burned down with us post-show and was like "wow we don't have that kinda space weed on the bus!"
RIP
