Dead at 77. Dude was one of a kind, he'll be missed bigly in this house :( :( :(

His appearance in Polynesiantown on SCTV is one of my favorite things ever, on top of his amazing music

Some musical deaths, I just go "That's a shame," but this one stings pretty good, and not just because I'd missed my chances to see him. But we'll always have this memory:
He dispensed "magic" glitter from a pouch, much to the chagrin of Gregg Allman, who once recalled having to clean glitter from his keyboards after sharing a bill with Dr. John.
I think I'm going to dig Gris-Gris out now.
The sooner we put those assholes in the grave&piss on the dirt above it, the better off we'll be

You almost gave me a heart attack Floyd. That Dr John isn't the only Dr John around these parts. Perhaps change the title of this thread to clarify?

Wow - The Night Tripper - RIP as you play that funk up in heaven. Glad to have seen him play a few times supporting the Radiators and a few times down in NOLA. Could be one of the biggest Jazz Funerals the city has ever seen. Will be sorely missed.
