Very sad news that Jeff Walls has passed away. Former axe man from Guadalcanal Diary who recently has been with garage rockers the Woggles was waiting a double lung transplant when he left us. An amazing guitarist and person, he will be missed. Rest in peace Flesh Hammer.

Re: RIP Jeff "Flesh Hammer"Walls
Thinking of Jeff Walls who passed away on this day in 2019 at the age of 62. I first heard of Guadalcanal Diary when I heard "Trail of Tears" on WRDU out of Raleigh, NC in 1985. Unfortunately, I only saw them perform live once which was a free outdoor show at Duke University in Durham in the Spring of 1989 just a week or so before R.E.M. came to the Dean Dome in Chapel Hill on the Green World Tour.
