I mean does anyone even bother listening to him anymore?
I can't bring myself to care about anything Koz has to say.

He's almost trolling people at this point, I think. I kinda wish Benji had been panned. He clearly doesn't understand what moved people with that record, and it's praise just gave him license to make the laziest, shittiest music this side of Nickleback.

Right about when ol’ Neil started veering toward the ditch.

Agreed. Harvest is unfairly labeled as his easy-goin' Southern California soft country rock album, but it definitely has some ditch precursors, e.g., "Words" and "Alabama."

The new Craig Finn is running mighty close with Todd Snider as my favorite so far this year.

Only had a couple of hours with the new CF, but I think it is pretty solid. I have really been liking his solo material of recent years. As much as I love THS, I think the departure away from power-chords and singalong choruses has allowed his songwriting to evolve and mature.

The Black Keys are on my "music probation" list. Their last couple of albums have been on a downward trajectory (IMO) and they need to earn me back.

That said, I hope they do, because they've made some great music

Not on probation yet with me- there are tracks I like on the last couple, but not great albums all around.

Have everything of their's on cd up to and including El Camino save for Attack and Release. Somewhere around Brothers they lost there way in my opinion. Still love their first 4 as well as Chulahoma. Find El Camino and everything after unlistenable.

On semi-probation with me as well, but their latest video is a good one...

The ticket prices on their current tour are outrageous. They are thinking they can pull of "Taylor Swift" ticket pricing... certainly isn't working in my town. It looks like only half of the venue is sold. Too bad but these guys shouldn't be charging more than $50-$60 a ticket IMO.

I'm not necessarily the guy shouting about political correctness all the time but I've got to say, I'm really turned off by their use of the electric chair on the artwork for their current album.

That is really bizarre about the ticket prices for the Black Keys, I looked at the prices for the Pepsi Center in Denver and yes, they are very high. I then looked at stub hub and the tickets are already priced at about half the face value there. Whole thing seems weird, I'd consider going just to catch Modest Mouse if I found a cheap ticket.

I found it pretty funny and appreciated the self-deprecating tone and his subtle tweaks at the music biz (hot new band: Mommy Daddy Baby). My favorite was the bit on Laura Ballance: We all have a photo of Laura handy to stare at just in case she calls.

Yeah, lots of tiny funny details. I like the awkward amateur acting as well. The songs gets me excited for the new album.

Last 3 or 4 of summers I've always had a new record or two to obsess on. Tyler Childers, The Regrettes, Courtney Barnett, DBT American Band all come to mind. I need something good for this summer and I don't have it yet. I hope something good comes along soon.

That Ian Noe album is pretty good.

It is good, but it's sort of a late night album to me, all literary merit with very little oomph. It's well written, well performed but like Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers and others I don't think I'll listen much.

Clams, I have yet to hear it but I'm hearing great things about the Drivin' 'n' Cryin' record. It doesn't drop until 6/21 but I think my vinyl is arriving today. I'm excited from the couple of songs I've heard so far.

If "House Fire" is any indication, the new Childers will do the trick.

Of course, it's not out until August.

Ian Noe is definitely late night driving music. It's not beer and barbecue music.
