Listen to him shred this solo! My dad and I saw him in Kansas City, same trip we saw the first football game played in Arrowhead Stadium. He was so great.

When I was little, I only knew of him through Hee Haw. I had no idea what a great player he was until an older cousin gave me an album he did with Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown. Such a great guitarist, RIP.

Was talking to a former professor of mine about Roy today. My 1st exposure to him came through old Hee Haw tapes I watched with my dad as a kid. From there I went out and bought several of his records, which is where I discovered his true talent on the guitar. Of course my dad and professor said they hadn't an inkling of that talent while he was on the show. RIP

I first saw Roy on "Swinging Country" a very short lived tv show. While my dad was overseas we watched "Laugh In" . When he came home we watched "Hee Haw"
Trick guitar lessons

.........and yes humor does belong in music!
and the rest as they say is uh er uh, well somebodies history somewhere?
