Brent Cobb
I don't know if y'all have heard his music. I think he would go over well here. His new recrod,Providence Canyon is his best so far in my opinion. He recently toured with Chris Stapleton and has been on NPR's Tiny Desk Concert. He's a fine story teller along with being a first rate song writer. Brent is from here and is also a buddy of mine. He is about to go on tour again and will be playing all around the South for sure. Y'all go see him if you get a chance and pick up his new record. He's a good old boy and makes some fine music.

Good tip for sure. I discovered him a few months ago and have really been digging the new record as well.

Re: Brent Cobb
Heard him on Walkin The Floor podcast and liked what I heard. His cousin is Dave Cobb.
Re: Brent Cobb
I listened to Providence Canyon 3-4 times yesterday and loved it. A lot of grease and funk going on. Cousin Dave did a good job on the knobs too.
This will make me year end list. Ain’t A Road Too Long smokes.

I agree with all that. I'm hearing a huge skynyrd influence too. I see Cobb played Boot & Saddle in Philly a few months ago and I'm kicking myself for missing it (Cole, next time you're holding an ace band up your sleeve, please don't wait so long to turn us on!)Iowan wrote:I listened to Providence Canyon 3-4 times yesterday and loved it. I catch that. I hear a bigger Allmans influence, myself. Not quite the hard edges you got with Skynyrd, but a little bit of that jazzy groove that's definitely Allmans.Clams wrote:I agree with all that. I'm hearing a huge skynyrd influence too. Wow, I listened to Brent Cobb a while back and wasn’t particularly impressed, but this is great.
Turn it up to 10 and rip off the knob
