As the article notes, it was Marty that got the shit kicked out of him at Altamont for not kissing up to violent thugs. I was more a Grace and Paul guy, then later a Jorma and Jack guy, but Marty had guts and integrity--one crazy son-of-a-bitch.

Love his voice and he absolutely wrote some killer love songs.
