Probably dumb question, but does Jann's selling of RS impact his "ownership(?)" of HOF?
And yeah, fuck you Jann, for no Zevon and Little Feat.

at this point, with some notable exceptions, entry into the R&R HOF is pretty much a participation trophy

been carrying this in my wallet last 7 years, today decided to pin it up on cork board. Much less likely to lose it that way

I will never forget how utterly crestfallen I was when I learned, just a couple months before I visited London, that they had closed.
Keep calm and have a cigar
Re: Another invalid R&RHoF ballot omits Warren Zevon
I'll give you Nina Simone and Dire Straits, however its a fucking joke that The Cars, Moody Blues or Bon Jovi would get in on the same ballot that Radiohead is omitted. Much love to The Cars and the Moody Blues, but they don't have the same caliber of discography that Radiohead does.
The Bon Jovi induction is good news for Nickelback, that they too may have a shot in the future.

I think The Cars are more worthy than Nina Simone.
But yeah, Radiohead and Rage being left out in favor of Bon Jovi and the Moody Blues is shit.

That is badass. If I knew you had that, I'd have ripped your lungs out and taken it.whatwouldcooleydo? wrote:been carrying this in my wallet last 7 years, today decided to pin it up on cork board. Much less likely to lose it that way

I made it there. If it makes you feel any better, nobody went there for the food.sactochris wrote:I will never forget how utterly crestfallen I was when I learned, just a couple months before I visited London, that they had closed.

It's hard to get too excited about the RnR HOF but just for discussion's sake I suspect that most people here don't realize how truly huge the moody blues were in their day. Better than Radiohead? Of course not. But at the time they were considered to be on the progressive "fm" side of things, until well into their run liking them was considered reasonably cool and they were among the most popular acts out there. I'd sort of put it this way: If bon jovi can get in there's no reason to keep the moody blues out. Which is not to say I'd vote for either one, just speaking in terms of the Hall as it is, not as it should be.

I'd put the Moody Blues in twice if it'd keep Bon Jovi out.beantownbubba wrote:I'd sort of put it this way: If bon jovi can get in there's no reason to keep the moody blues out.
The sooner we put those assholes in the grave&piss on the dirt above it, the better off we'll be
Re: Another invalid R&RHoF ballot omits Warren Zevon
I absolutely get everything you have to say about the Moody Blues and I'm certain that you are absolutely on point. My old man has given me the history on the Moody Blues as well and talked about how influential they were. Based on everything I have learned they absolutely deserve to get in.beantownbubba wrote:It's hard to get too excited about the RnR HOF but just for discussion's sake I suspect that most people here don't realize how truly huge the moody blues were in their day. I wasn't knocking them, I am simply saying that based upon the list of nominees and inductees, Radiohead should have been a shoe-in . They should have been the most definitive induction in this class and they were left out.
Re: Another invalid R&RHoF ballot omits Warren Zevon
Is it an injustice that The Cure has not been inducted yet? As a fan I believe that they should have been inducted.
Just gauging people's thoughts.

Re: Another invalid R&RHoF ballot omits Warren Zevon
Leaving Radiohead out has irked me more than any HoF decision in the last ten years. What a travesty
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever

daughter: Dad, why did Bon Jovi dress like that?
father: So that deaf people could also know that they suck
