Ugh, the article does make a few fair points, but The Atlantic continues to get worse and worse.
Turn it up to 10 and rip off the knob
Re: Prog rock: the whitest music ever
Funny story: a few years back, I saw The Mars Volta in concert. The band is very much prog rock, and consists almost entirely of Latino and African American musicians. By my count, there were more PoC on stage than there were in the audiencewhatwouldcooleydo? wrote:Prog rock: the whitest music ever
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever
Re: Prog rock: the whitest music ever
Tell that to Kings X, Living Colour or Thin Lizzy. Last two are a little stretch but not much.

Heard this a few years ago and thought it was made up but apparently not. The dude who played George Jefferson Sherman Hemsley was a huge prog rock fan.
He loved Gong, Nektar, Yes, etc.

By the time you drop them I'll be gone
And you'll be right where they fall the rest of your life
