Stream the southern rock legend's farewell album in its entirety.

Allman had been living more or less on borrowed time ever since his 2010 liver transplant. By the time he started making Southern Blood in 2016, his liver cancer had returned, though he kept that information private. Knowing his time was growing short, he set to work with producer Don Was on the album in earnest. On May 27, 2017, the southern rock legend was gone.

Someone on one the Isbell FB fan pages said that Isbell was set to work with Gregg on this album as far as collaborating on songs. I don't doubt it as they had met before but I've yet to find any confirmation of them planning to work together on Southern Blood. Has anyone else heard about this?

I think Amanda was the connection. She opened for Gregg. I think they hit it off. Imagine that, Gregg being sweet on her in a fatherly way?

This person said they read an article about Isbell writing songs with Gregg for Southern Blood in the Wall Street Journal. When I asked for a link, they told me to Google it. I've yet to find any confirmation of it.

Haven't watched the whole thing yet, but thanks for posting. From the Beacon, I assume?

I am a Clapton fan and have never understood the anti-Clapton backlash that has apparently been de rigeur for music snobs for the past umpteen years, but I will admit that I was thinking that I'd rather hear Gregg singing "Key to the Highway." Sure enough his one verse told me I was right about that.
