Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

it's not like Gilmour's solo records set the world on fire either. some decent stuff here and there, but #neverforget

Are you mocking Blue Light? I love that song. Plus he had a killer band on that record.

The video is bad but sorry, I dig the song.

I dig the entire About Face album. Gilmour's best solo output, and that includes the final 3 "Pink Floyd" albums without Waters.
Now it's dark.

Some great lists. Glad to see other than the usual suspects (good mention on Mark Eitzel).
So, apart from Dylan, here are some others that either weren't mentioned or I missed...
Tom Waits
Hank Williams
Bertolt Brecht/Kurt Weill
Buddy Holly (and/or Joe B. Mauldin, Niki Sullivan, Norman Petty)
Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart
Jimmy Webb
Patti Smith
Willie Dixon

The first two were omissions. The third would probably have occupied a spot on my list if I'd thought of them. I did consider Cindy Walker and Duke Ellington/Billy Strayhorn.

Awesome!

I still have a few of these. I usually take a couple with me to shows and trade 'em to musicians for their picks. Isbell loved 'em, gave me a couple of his, and told we it was a "swell swap".

that is fucking awesome! I saw them at the Warfield in 2001 and was on the rail, right in front of Nigel. He patted me head and shook my hand twice but alas no picks
