Yeah, this sucks but let's understand that Nelson made a very large and continuing mistake: He accepted the "not yet recouped" response for years w/out inquiring further.

Look, it's 2017 and to the extent there's a music industry left it's no more friendly to musicians than it ever was. How can any musician not know this? Musicians, you have 2 choices: either be aggressive in pursuit of your own interests w/out any trust in the suits you work with or hire somebody to be aggressive and not trust the suits on your behalf. If you can't find anyone reputable to do this for you you're not looking hard enough and it's an issue that is worth your best efforts, all self-image as an artiste notwithstanding.

There was a documentary about 30 Seconds to Mars that shined a bright light on how shady the music industry (still) is
