Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

My life has never been the same since I first heard The Fall as a 19 year old in 1979.

God bless Mark E Smith and all who sail in her

i think we've just defined the 3DD version of Godwin's Law (comparing Ryan Adams to Mark E Smith).

Spotify has a 60 track playlist - need to be logged in for the link to work

I'm just amazed they narrowed it down to 60.

Damn, he doesn't look a day under 75

by no means remotely close to being an expert or even a big fan of the Fall, but I have 5 or 6 of their albums and absolutely love this song!

Son, this ain't a dream no more, it's the real thing

Jeez, that would have been up there with Bowie for me, just a year after he died :o

You've got to love this:
Birthday messages have been pouring in for Smith, including from The Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess who said: “Asked Mark E Smith what was his favourite live act ever.
“‘Weird Al Jankovic’ he said quickly. He was serious and explained for ages why.”
There's a strong case to be made for putting Weird Al in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The sooner we put those assholes in the grave&piss on the dirt above it, the better off we'll be
