that you would like to see again? not talking about different lineups (ie, Jay Bennett-era Wilco), just bands in general.

The Fall
Cows
Thee Headcoats
Sun City Girls
The Delgados
The Dead C.

The Kinks (have seen Ray D solo a couple of times)
Traffic
The Mahavishnu Orchestra
Bonnie Raitt
Roy Buchanan (may have seen 2x, can't quite remember)
Muddy Waters
The Allman Brothers Band
Miles Davis
Marvin Gaye

It's funny: I'm sure there are more but what's mostly coming to mind are bands I never saw rather than those I did get to see once.

Just realised that a few of these bands were actually supporting other bands.

Joy Division were supporting Buzzcocks at Glasgow Apollo (1979), The Sound were supporting Echo and The Bunnymen at Stirling University (1980).
The Cramps supported The Police at Glasgow Apollo (1980?), and Suicide supported The Clash at Glasgow Apollo (1978)

I don't recall having an opportunity to see Bob but I did have a chance to see Peter Tosh when he came to Page Auditorium at Duke University in the early 80's. Unfortunately, a situation arose that prevented me from going.

Dec. 6, 1979, Hoch Auditorium at KU (Lawrence, KS). Almost didn't make it because I didn't have a car or a ride, much less tickets, but the lovely Julia Donk (real name) had a pair (Ha!), couldn't go, and GAVE them to me and my friend, John Mammen (also real name), who had just borrowed his parents' car. The rest, as they say...

Cool story. Though I was aware of it for years, I didn't really get bitten by the reggae bug until '79 or so. Other than maybe Jimmy Cliff and Burning Spear, I still haven't seen any of the really big acts. I saw Ziggy Marley open for INXS in '88 in Chapel Hill but I don't really consider him the real deal. Closer to bubblegum reggae, especially then.

my wife's first concert without parental supervision was Jimmy Cliff/Peter Tosh at some venue in Providence

Did he say it was the original New York Dolls?

That said, I still like the image of the babysitter who would have taken a kid to the original Dolls. I am getting a big Juliette Lewis vibe

No apologies. I don't regret any of those shows. Except The Police, they sucked. And maybe Bob Seger, but that's because I passed out in the second fuvking row stage center from pre-show libations and missed the entire concert.

Molly Hatchet was the first band i ever saw, opening for the Outlaws.

Frank Frazetta made a nice dime on the backs of that band.
