Definitely one of the greats. They're just going to keep coming. 2016 wasn't an anomaly, so much as it was a natural point for this to start.

Of the surviving original members he seemed infinitely more healthy than the other three :(

But no doubt Iowan's right. The demographics and the law of large numbers are working hard against us.

RIP to one of the best drummers ever.

Dude played every single Allman Bothers show. Simply amazing. Never missed a gig.

...still, would give my left nut to hear a Gregg Allman/Dickey Betts (and I know they aren't in the best of health these days) acoustic show with Jaimoe on percussion. One can dream...
...been playing Allmans all morning at work on Spotify.

No longer in the rumor stage, I did not know anything about this until earlier today.

Allman Brothers drummer Butch Trucks committed suicide in front of his wife
69-year-old drummer allegedly shot himself in the head while his wife stood nearby

Holy Fuck. I'm kinda speechless right now.

I didn't really know the guy but have friends who were friends with him. This is gonna hurt for a long, long time.
By the time you drop them I'll be gone
And you'll be right where they fall the rest of your life
