Smithsonian Folkways will be releasing Roll Columbia: Woody Guthrie's 26 Northwest Songs on January 27th, it's a 26 song collection of covers of the songs Woody Guthrie wrote in 1941 for the Bonneville Power Administration. You can read more about it here. Noisey is presently streaming "Grand Coulee Powder Monkey" (a song about about the fellows who handled the dynamite on the dam) that features Scott McCaughey on vocals, Peter Buck of R.E.M. and Black Prairie's Jon Neufeld that you can listen to here.

Cautiously optimistic about the new Flaming Lips based on what I've heard, especially since The Terror was IMHO a huge steaming turd with the exception of "Sun Blows Up Today", which wasn't even included.

Nice. I'm way more excited about that than I would be for a new BK album.

Nice to meet you, 2017. Given your predecessor's savage behavior, here's hoping you took some notes on how to be. Or how not to be.

HATTERAS NIGHT, A GOOD LUCK CHARM - LP / CD / DOWNLOAD
The new record will be released on March 24 via Undertow will full touring to follow. Britton Beisenherz, Matt Pence and Ricky Ray Jackson left their beautiful fingerprints all over this thing. We made it in Austin, TX at Ramble Creek Recording. I'm really grateful to have had them join for this record, and to have Matthew Genitempo's photography on another LP cover.

Track listing:
1. Childress (To Ogden)
2. Every Single Day Of Late
3. Ruby Shameless
4. Filled With A Falcon's Dreams
5. Heresy And Snakes
6. Hey-O, Hi-O
7. Predator
8. Milaak
9. Hatteras

Pre-orders will start on January 18.

JANUARY FULL BAND SHOWS
We're gonna do some electrified, full band venue shows here in Texas soon, with the lovely and wonderful Samantha Crain supporting. This lineup will include Greg Vanderpool on guitars/backing vocals, Britton Beisenherz on bass/keys, Ricky Ray Jackson on pedal steel/guitars, and Rob Sanchez on drums/percussion. Rehearsals start soon, and I think we'll make some big sounds and a nice racket together.

Thursday Jan. 26 - Austin/Mohawk with Samantha Crain
Friday Jan. 27 - Dallas/Club Dada with Samantha Crain
Saturday Jan. 28 - Denton/Dan's Silverleaf with Samantha Crain

FEBRUARY LIVING ROOM TOUR
Southern shows, plus Valentine's Night for the 5th consecutive year in beautiful Waverly, AL. All shows except Florence, AL and Mobile, AL are acoustic with no PA. Living room show tickets are available via http://www.undertowtickets.com, and tickets for the Sealy, TX show are available here http://tinyurl.com/jy5kold

Friday Feb. 10 - Memphis, TN/Living Room Show
Saturday Feb. 11 - Florence, AL/116 E. Mobile with Joey and Kelly from Glossary, and Shonna Tucker.
Sunday Feb. 12 - Birmingham, AL/Living Room Show
Monday Feb. 13 - Atlanta, GA/Living Room Show
Tuesday Feb. 14 - Waverly AL/Living Room Show
Thursday Feb. 16 - Mobile, AL/Satori
Friday Feb. 24 - San Antonio, TX/Living Room Show
Saturday Feb. 25 - Sealy, TX/Living Room Show w/ Erika Wennerstrom.

NEW 7” RELEASES
Coming a little later in 2017, Different Folk Records (SD) will release the "Patient, Patient Man" b/w "Uinta" 7", and People In A Position To Know (AZ) will release the "Murder (Of The Dance) 7". More info on those and the Little Raider + 2 Vinyl Release coming soon.

Thanks a lot, and hopefully see y'all down the road. -Will J.

It's different. Psychedelic Swamp was a remake of their earliest songs. This shows how much they've changed

I am more than well aware of that, but it doesn't change the fact that *to me* it was not very good
