Re: 2017 Album Releases
Smithsonian Folkways will be releasing Roll Columbia: Woody Guthrie's 26 Northwest Songs on January 27th, it's a 26 song collection of covers of the songs Woody Guthrie wrote in 1941 for the Bonneville Power Administration. You can read more about it here. Noisey is presently streaming "Grand Coulee Powder Monkey" (a song about about the fellows who handled the dynamite on the dam) that features Scott McCaughey on vocals, Peter Buck of R.E.M. and Black Prairie's Jon Neufeld that you can listen to here.
Re: 2017 Album Releases
Cautiously optimistic about the new Flaming Lips based on what I've heard, especially since The Terror was IMHO a huge steaming turd with the exception of "Sun Blows Up Today", which wasn't even included.
Now it's dark.

Re: 2017 Album Releases
Nice to meet you, 2017. Given your predecessor's savage behavior, here's hoping you took some notes on how to be. Or how not to be.

It's different. Psychedelic Swamp was a remake of their earliest songs. This shows how much they've changedwhatwouldcooleydo? wrote:Big fan of them. I am more than well aware of that, but it doesn't change the fact that *to me* it was not very goodZip City wrote:It's different. Psychedelic Swamp was a remake of their earliest songs.
