Never considered a relation between Sun Ra and Gram Parsons, other than Emmie Lou Harris being born in Birmingham, and that's tenuous.

The article isn't drawing a parallel between Sun Ra and Gram Parsons (or Emmylou Harris), William Tyler and Steve Gunn mention Sun Ra as an influence. I point that out because oftentimes folks will comment on articles they haven't actually read. Apologies if that's not the case here.
