OK finally got around to this one, (so sue me, I've been busy). A much more well crafted album, really shows the growth of the band and their in studio abilities. That said, I can tell already, I will be going to Better Angels, and Feral Fire alot more often. I think I Just like the more raw feel of their past albums.

And.
This album finally shows what a bad ass bass player Bingham Barnes really is! I've seen it in his live shows but never really thought the studio albums brought it to light. This one does.

"I saw Glossary blow the Drive By Truckers off the stage once in Memphis -- yeah, I said it."

Jeff Clark of the Maximum R & B music blog interviews Kelly Kneiser of Glossary, read it here. Never in a million years would I think I'd go searching for "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?" by the Shirelles on YouTube but that's exactly what I found myself doing immediately after reading this interview.

Glossary will be touring the West Coast in late January. Exact dates and locations should be posted shortly (they'd better get on it!). Hopefully, late January means "post-Athens".

Same thing Kelly told me when I talked to her at the merch table in Lexington during the DBT/Glossary show back in October. Said they'd be hitting the road in January, hoping to go out west and then back to midwest/southeast. Also said they'd probably start working on a new album sometime in 2013, but nothing was set in stone.

I'd love to see some Minneapolis or Madison dates pop up in the near future. Really need to catch these guys live.

And, as yet unannounced officially (but mentioned on their FB page), they're coming to ARMANDO'S in MARTINEZ, CA. I don't have the date yet, but it should be between 1/25 and 1/29. EDIT: Armando's website says Saturday, 1/26. PERFECT.

That's 12 minutes from my house and holds MAYBE 100 people. I will be doing my best to fill it with my friends. I know of at least two I can count on already!

Also working on an SF date. I'll be at both!

EXCITED

Hoping to make the Knoxville show, but it's on Valentine's Day. Even though my wife likes Glossary, not sure I'll be able to convince her to make that show, especially since it's almost 2 hours away and on a weeknight.

Especially if you go and drool over Kelly....just keep in mind it's bad form.

Well first off I would start by downloading The Better Angels of Our Nature from 2008, one because it's fantastic and two because it's still free on their site:

http://www.glossary.us/downloads/

(you should download Kelly's solo album and Joey's first solo album while you're at it as well)

Quite a bit of their stuff is on Spotify so that's a good place to start. I'm more of an album guy so it's hard for me to pick out individual songs but I'd check out Feral Fire, Long Live All of Us & the aforementioned The Better Angels of Our Nature to start. Oh and here are some YouTube clips to check out:

Nice, thank you. I am finishing my downloads right now off their website. I downloaded all three they had available Joey, Kelly, and The Better Angels.

Thanks, Jeff

I'd also like to add that I think Feral Fire and Long Live All of Us are their best albums, so follow up (quick!) with those two if you like Better Angels at all.

I've probably listened to All Night Bedroom Revival more than any other album the past few years. Amazing.
I've got the new Kneiser, but haven't given it a good listen yet.
E quindi uscimmo a riveder le stelle.
