In related news, George Harrison and Frank Zappa are going to come back just so they can die in 2016.
Thanks for everything, Guy. Peace.

Re: RIP Guy Clark
I figure that Guy got tired of Townes having Susanna all to himself.
RIP Guy. Say hi to Townes for me.

Damn, Chris, you should have come up to see him at the brewery, he played here at least 3-4 times, maybe more. The show where Ramblin' Jack opened was particularly sweetsactochris wrote:He's another one that I never got to see live. Always go to the show.

Re: RIP Guy Clark
Guy was nice enough to sign these for me. The cd back when the photo with Townes was taken. The framed photo last year.

Re: RIP Guy Clark
From ray wylie hubbard:
so townes and guy were doing a song swap thing at this place on industrial blvd in dallas called 'the 3 tear drops tavern.'
i get there right as they walk on stage and go stand back near the sound board.
they play about 50 minutes or close to an hour and i see townes lean over and whisper something in guy's ear.
guy goes up to the mic and says, "ladies and gentlemen, a good friend of ours mr. ray wylie hubbard is in the audience and we'd like to get him up here and hear him sing one of his songs. how bout it.''
i walk to the stage to a smattering of applause and guy hands me his guitar and he and townes leave the stage.
i start playing i think it was 'dust of the chase' or maybe it was 'when she sang amazing grace' and about half way though i see the front door of the club open and guy and townes are getting into a cab.
i have been hoodwinked.
i finish the song and say ''there's going to be a short break.''
guy and townes come back about 20 minutes later with i think roxy gordon and they find me and say they appreciate me setting in for a song and start laughing and then get back on stage and play for a long time.
after the gig some other stuff happened.
there's some moments more memorable than others and any time i was around guy..well, it was always memorable and also a time i indeed value.
there ain't ever gonna be another 'un like him.
r.i.p.

Re: RIP Guy Clark
Was one of the best in the genre. Original country troubador writer. And the last album he recorded was so emotional and personal...
I wrote a eulogy about him in my blog. In hebrew, but if someone understand:
