He references everyone from AC/DC to BTO to ELO and Bruce Hornsby (who's referred to as "Nick Hornsby" at least once in the article) as influences on this record. While that may excite some people, it makes me wonder if this will be just another shit album. He wore his influences heavily on both Gold and Rock n Roll, perhaps too heavily on the former but on Cold Roses, I thought he did a better job of channeling the primary influence (Grateful Dead) than hitting you over the head with it as he had on previous albums. Maybe this one will be different, who knows but I'd prefer to hear more originality out of him than another "spot the influence" type record.

He loves to spout off about metal and punk on Twitter and in interviews, but I think he's figured out what pays the bills. I'll be surprised if it's not another tame pop-rock album in the vein of A&F and RA.

The Lambchop record is one of my most anticipated releases of the year.
What a truly incredible band. Just beautiful music.

1984 (NOT the Taylor Swift 1989 cover album, the 10-song punk 7") is the best thing Ryan Adams has released since Jacksonville City Nights, IMO, and he's put out some good stuff since JCN. Looking forward to his new one a lot.

People are really still talking about Ryan Adams in late 2016? He's not been relevant this decade, and to be honest even before then.

For a guy who has written shitloads of songs he's only really made less than a handful of decent - ish records, and one pretty good one - Heartbreaker

I like most of his records and don't think Heartbreaker is anywhere near his best (maybe most overrated).

Loved the last one and I'm looking forward to the new one.
