Clunky, but it works.

So have I, which sucks.

If it is like Death Magnetic, then I shall give it a listen. If it is like the Black Album et. al, then, well..you know...

New Dawes on 9/16, but the lead single gives me very little hope. This band went downhill awfully quick

Their last album had some real good songs. The title track in particular.

Stories Don't End was a complete pile of shit though. If the new one is like that, I'll pass.

Apparently there are a million guest artists on the new one (Jim James, Will Oldham, Brittany Howard, Lucius, Mandy Moore), so I don't know what they're doing

EDIT: man, this new song is not at all what I would have expected. Not in a good way

Ryan Adams wrote 'quite literally 80' songs for new fall album

the dude is a machine. a non-editing machine.

But seriously, I couldn't even write one song, while he and Patterson and Shakey write like 10 songs per day

eh, i always take that with a grain of salt. "writing a song" is nothing. writing a good song is really, really hard. i seriously doubt he wrote 80 good songs. can you name any songs from cardinals iii/iv, his metal album, or his rap album?

He references everyone from AC/DC to BTO to ELO and Bruce Hornsby (who's referred to as "Nick Hornsby" at least once in the article) as influences on this record. While that may excite some people, it makes me wonder if this will be just another shit album. He wore his influences heavily on both Gold and Rock n Roll, perhaps too heavily on the former but on Cold Roses, I thought he did a better job of channeling the primary influence (Grateful Dead) than hitting you over the head with it as he had on previous albums. Maybe this one will be different, who knows but I'd prefer to hear more originality out of him than another "spot the influence" type record.

Lately it seems like the more outlandish the references get, the more conventional the records are. He loves to spout off about metal and punk on Twitter and in interviews, but I think he's figured out what pays the bills. I'll be surprised if it's not another tame pop-rock album in the vein of A&F and RA.

The Lambchop record is one of my most anticipated releases of the year.
What a truly incredible band. Just beautiful music.

1984 (NOT the Taylor Swift 1989 cover album, the 10-song punk 7") is the best thing Ryan Adams has released since Jacksonville City Nights, IMO, and he's put out some good stuff since JCN. Looking forward to his new one a lot.

Released on the same day as Lambchop too. 8-)

The new Amanda Shires album:

The new Dawes album:

And my favorite of the three, the new comeback album of Darren Rademaker & The Tyde. With bunch of former Beachwood Sparks members:

People are really still talking about Ryan Adams in late 2016? He's not been relevant this decade, and to be honest even before then.

For a guy who has written shitloads of songs he's only really made less than a handful of decent - ish records, and one pretty good one - Heartbreaker

I like most of his records and don't think Heartbreaker is anywhere near his best (maybe most overrated).

Loved the last one and I'm looking forward to the new one.
