there is a distressing lack of commentary on one of America's finest-ever bands, bordering on an intellectual crisis. Here's an arrow to lead you down that path:

i might have posted this before, and i'm sure Spotify has deleted some tracks from when i assembled it, but this is a deep dive into that era:

Cortez - I spent the better part of the weekend plowing through Redneck Yacht Rock I-V. Perfect for the 4th holiday weekend. MERICA!
Thanks! Well done!

Great artist and songwriter! I think we may discussed this before, but he used to play over here in Norway (all over the country really) quite frequently ever since the Dream Syndicate days and all up until the pandemic made it impossible. I guess I probably seem him 10 times in various "incarnations", but never with DS unfortunately, from tiny solo shows in bars to larger festivals and theaters, with Gutterball, Miracle 3 and the Baseball Project. One time he was backed by some random local guys and they were doing mostly early DS tunes. Think it was a wedding present to one of the guys in "the band" arranged by the bride, which I think says a lot about Steve as a person and musician that does not take himself too seriously. Important artist in my "formative" years as a music geek.

I'm very late to the Steve Wynn/Dream Syndicate party, but happy I found my way there. As you say, great artist and songwriter.
