This clip disappeared for a while, and now it's back. It's very, very funny. Poor Luke Null can't seem to catch a break, as he had one other sketch featuring him that show, a sketch which was not that funny. He's hilarious here.John A Arkansawyer wrote:Jack White didn't sing at my wedding.

I can't decide whether Johnny Cash sounds more like Elvis Presley or Roy Orbison. It'd be Roy if he had the right range:

Opinion: I Am Part of the Resistance Inside Morrissey’s Touring Band
Now that I think about it, if the bassist needs my solidarity, he must've written it. So scratch that. I feel no solidarity with the not-a-bassist author of that article. Four strings bad, six strings good. Not that I'm pointing a finger at anyone. Neither the finger you'd put on the E string for a G barre or the finger you'd use to flip off someone eating a non-vegan hot dog where you can see it and long for its meaty juicy by-product: Wonder and a Taste Explosion.
Out of solidarity with my fellow bassists, I feel obligated to tell you that it is not the bassist who wrote this. The Hard Times is taking the rare step of publishing an anonymous Op-Ed essay. We have done so at the request of the author, a member of Morrissey’s touring band whose identity is known to us and whose job would be jeopardized by its disclosure. We believe publishing this essay anonymously is the only way to deliver an important perspective to our readers.
Though undeniably an icon of the alternative/indie scene Morrissey has clashed with many of the principles long espoused by people with tattoos and emotions: showing up to gigs and not being racist. Instead, Morrissey cancels shows last minute on a whim and calls Chinese people a subspecies.

The best Nickelback joke ever, the surprising connection between Halsey and Judge Roy Moore, and an answer to the question, "What is a dualipa?"

Re: Does Humor Belong In Music?
does music belong in humor?
fun fact: Shirley Hemphill was from Asheville. I saw her once at the Wendy's on Patton Ave. I was around 10 or 11. I said, "hey Shirley!", she answered, "yes sweetie?", and I said "what's happening?"
If looks could kill

Ars longa, vita brevis:
Noting that the pop hit was certain to have far greater longevity than the entirety of your earthly works, a new report released Wednesday found that the song “Centerfold,” by The J. Geils Band will outlast you and all you create in this life.

How about humorless musicians? See, e.g., Eric Clapton.

Respectfully call bullshit. Zappa's humor was so dry it evaded most mortals.
Now it's dark.

Except when it was so broad and juvenile that it can be a little embarrassing to go back to. And Zappa was somewhat humorless about himself and about music.Flea wrote:drommel56 wrote:Frank Vincent ZappaMarkalanbishop wrote:Primus

Agreed. For a guy who was so highbrow about music he sure wrote a lot of songs about butt fucking.John A Arkansawyer wrote:Except when it was so broad and juvenile that it can be a little embarrassing to go back to. And Zappa was somewhat humorless about himself and about music.

Sometimes painting with a broad brush is pertinent to making your point, especially when satire is involved.scotto wrote:Agreed. Which brings us to this, in which I think Dolly Parton actually embarrasses Jimmy Fallon:Flea wrote:Sometimes painting with a broad brush is pertinent to making your point, especially when satire is involved.scotto wrote:Agreed. I especially love how this one goes completely into left field at the end. It's like the "cops in a bar" sketch they did last night, which kept taking weird turns.whatwouldcooleydo? wrote:Jen said this one hit WAY too close to home for herJohn A Arkansawyer wrote:"Baby, calm down.
