Several minutes of Crazy Horse intro, great Ty Segall classic in the middle, and a long MMJ-ish outro
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever

Good one. I've been loving his cover of "Every 1's a Winner."

Flat out rocks for sure but what happened to the chorus?

LOL, that was a lot more clear in my mind than on the screen. Sorry.

What I meant was that the song builds towards a chorus/hook in more or less conventional fashion but the hook's not there and imho that's the difference between "flat out rocking" and a hit or at least a piece of aural candy I would come back to multiple times. It's not just that there's no hook it's that the song builds towards it, kinda promises that it's coming but doesn't deliver. I felt like I was left hanging. At least that's the way I hear it.

In a just world, that song would be blasting at every cookout today.

To erode any last shred of credibility I possess, I was grooving pretty hard to "Forever Man" yesterday.

The Core is an excellent album cut.

Had Clapton stopped making new music after Slowhand it would have greatly improved his musical legacy. One could argue that means no Tears in Heaven, but it also results in no Forever Man, It’s in the Way That You Use it, I’ve Got a R&R Heart,
She’s Waiting, Pretending, et al. He’s certainly made a ton of money post Slowhand, no denying that, but the actual quality of the music he’s made since then has been pretty mediocre and if anything is a ding against the great output of his early career

And yes, I know of his considerable charity and philanthropic works, I’m just talking about the music

Journeyman has some good tunes.

I know it sounds like I hate Clapton, but I really don't.

That said, I saw the tour for Journeyman in Greensboro and it was without question the most boring, dare I say, robotic, performance I've ever seen from a major artist. Only saving grace was getting to watch absolute madman Ray Cooper on percussion

Be honest. You seat grooved to Forever Man and did the handclap thing during the end of She’s Waiting.

Jim James - No Secrets

It's one of several songs on his new record that could go straight onto an MMJ album. He really went back to his roots on this one
