According to another recent Saving Country Music article he’s got a couple records worth of music in the can. He also said while busking outside the CMA Awards he’s got a couple more projects he’d like to do (including a potential bluegrass album), but I have no clue if those were ever meant to come to fruition or not.
Turn it up to 10 and rip off the knob

He said back in 2014 that he was making 5 records and then quitting

I'm just curious if he changed his mind on that and I missed it

The way he describes this album sounds really similar to the arrangements he was using when I saw him last summer. It was easily one of the best live performances I've ever witnessed and puts this squarely in "most anticipated album of the year" position for me.

I agree 100% with your feelings on this Iowan. Was not sure what to expect seeing him live last summer. I knew what ever the arrangement was I was going to enjoy.. Needless to say the psychedelic blues/rock onslaught blew me away.. Blew out a lot of the older folks eardrums.. Nothing funnier than seeing half the crowd scrambling for ear plugs and the other half losing their minds.. Happy to have both my ears and mind blown!! Psyched for this release!!

One of the all time great SNL performances.

I remember making my kids watch this and telling them "You know what this is? This is fucking rock and roll."

Love each other, Motherfuckers!

I agree on the Cheney thing but in the movie the people being hunted are described as "deplorables".

Now obviously I haven't seen the movie yet but that makes me wonder if this isn't a way of saying to the two warring sides, " Seriously, enough is enough. Calm the fuck down.". I hope so.

I agree Cole, and hope you’re right. This movie makes me think of the short story The Most Dangerous Game.

Fantasy Island liked to work in the "hunting humans" plot every now & then, IIRC

Not a big fan. I was expecting heavy, harder rock. This was pretty synthy. We’ll see.

Same here, didn’t grab me the couple times I’ve listened. Curious to hear the rest of the album.

Yea I’m with you guys... drop the synth and just let the guitars do the talking. But I do think that song is gonna smoke live.

Man I really liked it. I mean I hope the whole thing isn't that synth heavy but my immediate reaction was that I really liked it. Supposed to be more of a rock album so maybe the rest is more guitar centered. One thing is for sure, he likes to mess with people.

I am reminded of ZZ Top after they became video stars. Catchy, but not my favorite.

I listened to it on loop while working out yesterday, and I'm coming around.

The synth thing was the only deterrent to me. I've been expecting a heavy rock record, and this fits.

I'm coming around too, the first few times I listened, I had a classroom full of students and had to keep the volume low. Now that I've heard it a few more times, it's growing on me.
