Re: Sturgill Simpson Thread
I guess it is not so much his shoes, just the image his voice brings to my mind when I listen to him. I picture an old school rancher looking guy, kind of crusty and weathered, wearing cowboy boots and Wranglers. He just did not look like what I had in my mind at all. You are not being a smart ass, now that I reread my post it does seem like an odd thing to say, I was just surprised was all. Sorry for any confusion.

I remember thinking how odd it looked when I saw Ryan Bingham wearing white jax teller tennis shoes.

I can remember when Jimmy Buffett didn't perform barefoot. Todd Snider and Ronnie Van Zant have it all over him.

Re: Sunday Valley - To the Wind and Onto Heaven - where find
So I have spent the better part of the weekend listening to this Sunday Valley. When I get hooked on something I tend to binge listen. I tell you what, I am sold. I am liking some of it better than the solo stuff. One song that really stood out is "I Don't Mind" what a great song.

I sure could use a little help. I am usually pretty independent too.

Scrubbed. Sturgill seems to be on a mission to erase his Sunday Valley stuff.

I have heard from a source very close to him that he is not happy about the distribution of the Sunday Valley disc either.

Can one of the mods merge this thread w/ the existing Sturgill Simpson one?

He must be planning on reissuing it, I take it.

On the Joe Rogan podcast, he doesn't even mention Sunday Valley when Joe asks him about his career. He mentions the two albums. Listening to the podcast, you wouldn't even know that he played in a band before the High Top Mountain album.
