Nice. First heard three of them based on recs here.

There are some nicely quotable lines but I'm too lazy to quote them at the moment The one other thing that caught my eye was the reference to a 25 minute record as a "full length album." :? :?:
I missed the 2nd Grade album. Strong GBV vibe when Bob is mining the pop side of the 4 Ps.
2nd Grade sounds like the real deal on first listen to their 2 albums.
Troof!

Recently discovered this power pop trio (including 2 brothers, Bill & Tommy Fox) from Cleveland who had a brief run in the mid-80s. This compilation of their one and only album, Scooter, and an EP, For Almost Ever, is excellent.

Nice find on the Mice, cortez. Just finishing up my first listen and I am digging it and, more importantly, smiling.

The spotify algorithm is spitting out some interesting post-Mice stuff including Tobin Sprout and Alex Chilton.

I did not know that Teenage Fanclub released a new album in 2023. It's called Nothing Lasts Forever. On first listen I'd call it pretty good; not at the level of their classic albums but well crafted power pop, a little more laid back than the old days (not really surprising), that will keep your attention w/out delivering a killer hook.

I signed up for Joyful Noise’s Early Bird VIP membership this year because I like their vibe and their affinity for left-field sounds. I’ve been diving into their catalog pretty heavily in the past few months. Power Pop aficionados will find much to enjoy from Mike Adams at His Honest Weight. Man knows his way around an earworm.
All it takes is one wicked heart, a pile of money, and a chain of folks just doing their jobs
