Nice! I'm really liking I'm in your mind fuzz. How is this one?
tinnitus photography wrote: i haven't heard it. the only time i heard the band was when they opened for White Fence.
spun this a few times yesterday and today based on dd's recommendation in the listening thread.
trippy but not always ethereal. groove. expanse. lots of ambient sound sampling and the like. like a paul's boutique era beastie boys/cody chesnutt/tame impala mashup while smoking hash with phil spector.
i hope the tame impala reference is not seen as a negative in any way.
i am digging.

Not at all obvious, but I can hear Neko Case singing "Beautiful" by Wussy
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever

speaking of Neko, i don't think there's an influence but the beginning of this song always reminds me of Shonna and her songwriting:VIDEO

On the new Decemberists: Carolina Low sounds like a Jay Farrar song Til the Waters All Long Gone has a Pink Floyd vibe

I heard a tune on the radio the other day, and I heard Too Deep by The Ghost of a Saber Toothed Tiger. All I heard was the Beatles.
VIDEO
Well, duh, the lead singer is Sean Lennon, son of John Lennon. Cool tunes, but all I can hear is the Beatles.

The Kinks on Counting Crows.
I'll expand when I have time, but surprisingly similar career arcs and the lead singer with mental health issues and illustrious sexual partners thing.

It's driving me crazy trying to figure out what artist this sounds like/is obviously influenced by. It's right there in my brain but I can't grasp it
EDIT: It's "Amy" by Ryan Adams

John Prine influence is obvious. So far, it hasn't gotten in the way of my enjoyment of the song.
