Willy Vlautin hipped me to this guy ~

Buzz Martin is the real deal, and once the novelty of a singing logger wears off, what you have is the most genuine folk singer you’ll ever find. Buzz had a pure, authentic and downright enjoyable hillbilly sound, and being a logger by trade, he delivered an honest, poetic and usually comedic portrayal of the common working man of the western hills.

I like that Jim Sullivan album too. His disappearance creeps me out.

Some classics on that list, but not much in the way of weirdo, fringe alt.country.

Love this one. Also "Lubbock (On Everything)" and "Smokin' the Dummy."

My late great friend Orlis just about wore out his Legendary Stardust Cowboy jacket. I think he got it from his brother, who hosted The Lege (as Orlis called him--probably no one else did) at an in-store in (where else?) Las Vegas. He might've been through town as well, but I don't remember, I can't recall.
