Just saw that Matt Cameron is taking a hiatus from Soundgarden to finish out the Lightning Bolt tour with PJ. Always thought it would go the other way if he had to choose.
I wonder who Soundgarden gets now. Dave Abbruzzese doing anything?

I am surprised also. You would think he would want to tour with his original band. Plus on top of that Soundgarden's latest King Animal is a much stronger release than Lightning Bolt.

The only video of this to surface so far that I'm aware of.

Last Friday at their 2013 tour closer in Seattle, Pearl Jam played Let Me Sleep for just the second time. The first time was 10/1/94 in Mountain View, CA.
I was lucky enough to be on the rail for this surprising bustout.

Apparently this is an easter egg on the Twenty DVD but I'm just now discovering it. Then again, it may not be on the version of Twenty I have.

Bill,
Thanks a lot for your foresight on this. I was able to book a hotel on the Mississippi River 4 blocks from the venue in Moline as soon as I received your heads-up. Some friends couldn't even get into the closer hotels by the time the official announcement came through.
Definitely in for Moline, Milwaukee, with a strong possibility for St Louis.

You're welcome. Other fans were posting Ticketmaster screenshots on Facebook as they saw them so I just passed on the info that I learned that way.
I'm hoping to do a few of the shows from Detroit-Milwaukee and then Denver before heading to California for the Bridge School Benefit. With these dates revealed I'm almost positive that Pearl Jam will play Bridge the weekend of October 25-26.

Damn, they played No Code and Yield (my fav albums) straight through at a couple of recent shows within a few hours of me. And where was I? Not there, that's where.

So close to me, but with the cheapest tickets going for $100 (which will go instantly), I can't justify moving into the $250, $500, $750, and $1,000 price tiers. It will be interesting to see how this sells out of the gates. It will no doubt be an incredible show.Bill in CT wrote:"An Evening Celebrating The Who with Pete Townshend, Eddie Vedder, Simon Townshend and Friends"

Familiar with most of them but somehow I only own Ten and Vs. Gotta expand on that. Not a rabid fan but they'd all get a spin, once in a while anyway.

I think you'd dig "No Code" and "Vitalogy" the most, if you're looking for a starting point.Beebs wrote:Word.Iowan wrote:Updated album list at Beebs' behest.

#1 No Code ... It's not perfect, but its flaws make it more interesting. Love the production, love Jack Irons' drumming.
#2 Yield ... Every song is great, and the production is amazing. The guitar tone on Faithfull= .
#3 Vitalogy ... The thick layer of 90s angst weighs it down a bit.
#4 Ten ... Stone cold classic.
#5 Binaural ... A good album that could've been great with a little re-tracking. So many great b-sides were left off.
#6 Vs. ... Very much "of its time." Sounds very dated now.
#7 Lightning Bolt ... God help me, I really like it.
#8 Riot Act ... Just a big, brassy fart of an album.
#9 Avocado ... A couple good songs on the first half, bunch of crap on the second half. Contains their worst song, "Inside Job." Production is horrendous.
Wait, don't they have 10 studio albums?
#10 Backspacer ... Oh yeah, this exists.

Interesting thoughts. I don't care for "Inside Job", but man, I wouldn't put it anywhere close to their worst song. That's gotta be "Bu$hleager" or "Future Days". I'm not counting the sound fragments. Just full fledged songs.Duke Silver wrote:#1 No Code ... It's not perfect, but its flaws make it more interesting. The production on Avocado is pretty good too. Not nearly as shiny as the other recent albums, and the guitars really shine. I agree that the back half kind of drags. "Come Back" is a PJ guilty pleasure of mine. I think they're shooting for 50's ballad sound and pull it off.
