ARTIST OF THE WEEK - PLEASE READ

Post by Clams »

Artist of the Week is back - in it's original form. Pick an artist or a band you like and post something about him/her/them. Write one sentence, one paragraph or an entire treatise. Write about one album, one show you saw or do a career retrospective. Post some youtubes, link to a sampler. WHATEVER YOU WANT.

If interested, send me a PM. Thanks.

PS - Since it's been a while, you might want to check here to see who's already been featured...

I am due up today, but between work and difficulties uploading to YouTube, it will be late tonight before I get my AOTW posted.

Thanks for your patience
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever

Bump. AOTW has been back and running smooth as silk for almost six months now, but I only have commitments through the middle of December. If anyone wants to sign up, send me a PM and let me know who you want to cover. As always, threads can be however long or short you want, and can focus on a band or artist's entire career or just one record or show or whatever you want. Thanks.

As a result of my recent direct-marketing campaign, artist of the week is now set through the end of June. Thanks to everyone who volunteered (ok, "got enlisted" is more accurate) 8-)

Of course July will be here before we know it, so volunteers are always welcome.

For those struggling to come up with an artist or band, I recommend thinking micro instead of macro. Instead of doing a retrospective of an artist's entire career, try focusing on a small part: one single or album, a show or tour you saw, or the band's early (or later) years, etc. Your task is only to start the conversation, everyone else will take it from there.

I'm thinking Clams should do the Nuci's fundraising campaign next year. Or maybe we'll put him to work as an honorary Bryan's Biker this summer so we can all qualify for "heavy hitter" jackets :)

Dual artists of the week this week with Ritter getting the rare 3-week sticky honors. You're slipping Cowboy.
