Nice! How's Liz Phair's latest album? I've heard some good but mixed things about it but haven't gotten around to listening to it.
I tried when it came out but didn't make it through. I was a fan in the 90's and saw her 3 times back then. These tix were given to me by my sister who can't make it. I couldn't turn them down.

I scored great tickets for Dylan in Seattle. It was a bit more than I wanted to spend but I just got my tax refund so no harm. The first time I saw him was in 1978 & I figure there's a good chance this will be the last one. I heard a tape from earlier in the tour & he's doing almost all of Rough & Rowdy ways which to my ears is a good thing. Such a great record.

Got good tickets for Crowded House. Excited for this one. I've been a Neil Finn fan for over 40 years. Shows not until October 1 though.

My wife and I are headed out later today and heading to Merlefest in Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
Lots of great artists on the bill. Looking forward to it.

Next week I'm gonna attempt a trifecta of Adam Carroll in Mobile, Steve Forbert in Meridian, Ms and Scott Miller in Nashville. It's an ambitious plan, we'll see how it goes.

The Felice Brothers were a joy as always. James is great with the crowd, and the band was having fun. Plenty of songs from the new record, plus some classics like Lincoln Continental, Frankie’s Gun, Love Me Tenderly and Whiskey in my Whiskey

This is where I am this weekend. I had hoped to see jr29, but he posted that he’s elsewhere. I’m pretty sure this will be my first big festival since 2019 and covid. I’m looking forward to seeing Van Morrison tonight!

DBT's w/ Lydia Loveless at Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, NC tomorrow night. This will be only my second show in over two years. It is also likely the longest I've ever gone without seeing DBT's since I first became a fan in the late 90's. The last show I saw before the pandemic just so happened to be Lydia at Cat's Cradle - Back Room where she was headlining a benefit for the Australian wildfires.

a friend of mine was at Cat's Cradle last night for GBV. She's flying back to Boston right now.

It's my favorite Triangle area venue to see the Truckers. They have a long history there that goes back to when they first started to move out of the smaller clubs in the area such as the Local 506 and the Brewery.

Well Bill had a pretty good April.

I saw Lee Bains (solo) yesterday afternoon at The Milestone in Charlotte and am in Carrboro for DBT tonight.

Lee Bains is so good on so many levels and it was heartbreaking to me to see so few in attendance though I’m sure the late afternoon show time didn’t help. I picked up a couple of CDs of albums I already have and thought a lot about how to better support the artists I love on the drive up. And then I got the chance when the desk clerk at the hotel asked about my day. Hopefully he’ll enjoy the CD or it will fall into the hands of someone who will. This was the third time I’ve gifted the southern punk masterpiece Youth Detention but the first time to a complete stranger (who confirmed he has a CD player). Wait - this isn’t the Lee Bains thread.

I’ve got tickets to Marty Stuart in mid-May.
