Scored tickets to see Courtney Barnett's solo acoustic tour at the Queen in Wilmington, DE in January. I think she's only doing a few solo dates. Should be pretty fantastic.

Just bought my ticket to see Todd Snider with special guest Ramblin' Jack Elliott at the Boulder Theater (in Colorado, of course) on October 10. I wanted to mention this in case any Snider fans in the area didn't know about it.

I wasn't aware of the show until I went to his website to see if he's coming to the Denver/Boulder area anytime soon and was very pleased to see he'll be here a month from today. I got to wondering about this after picking up this book today on my lunch break at a nearby library.

I really like Todd's music and stories. I have a few of his albums and have heard some good live shows from archive.org of him solo, with backing band Great American Taxi, and as frontman of the jamband/supergroup Hard Working Americans. I'm sure most at this site probably know his work better than I do, but if there are any who haven't checked out his work, do so. I can't imagine DBT fans not enjoying Snider, and vice versa (except maybe the most hardcore acoustic folkies who are still mad at Dylan for going electric in '65).

And Ramblin' Jack Elliott! Who is he, you ask? Well, I didn't know either. Turns out he's been on the folk scene forEVER. He released his first album in 1955 and is now 88 years old! The link in the first sentence of this post goes to his website. Here's his wikipedia page also, if anyone's interested. If you go to his site, be sure to read his Bio.

Ramblin’ Jack is a true legend. Talk about someone who’s been a couple of places and seen a couple of things

Saw Todd Snider last night at the Crosstown Theatre in Memphis. Great crowd, great show. Todd seemed genuinely happy to be in Memphis. He told lots of stories from his days living here and played lots of his Memphis songs....Horseshoe Lake, Can't Complain, KK Rider, Moondawg's Tavern.
