right on, thank you.

if it helps, here's a quick identifier for the aforementioned bands:

Comets On Fire - unhinged guitar psych madness
Howlin Rain - digs deep into the acid-fried scene of the hippies, but song-based
Espers - fragile yet resilient psych that sounds like it's drifting across a verdant meadow of the English countryside, circa 1971
Assemble Head In Sunburst Sound - super catchy west coast psych action
Meg Baird solo - see Espers, but with just Meg's lonely voice and simple acoustic guitar
Feral Ohms - shared foaming-at-the-mouth tendencies of Comets On Fire, using famed japanese noise/psych outfit High Rise as inspiration

I saw Terry Allen on Saturday. One of the better shows I've been to in a long time. Just a few of the artists that showed up to play in the Panhandle Mystery band: Glenn Fukunaga, Terri Hendrix, Lloyd Maines and Charlie Sexton. In the second set they were joined by David Byrne. Pretty epic.

Where are your seats? We saw Rod Stewart in that venue spur of the moment when we were in LV over Thanksgiving for college hoops. We talked about going there for this Van run but it wasn’t financially, dare I say, in the cards

Low last night. Not sure what I was expecting after the last album but the show was all guitars with, it has to be said, a lot of effects. The show had a few pacing issues but otherwise absolutely phenomenal, especially a section in the middle where they played Tempest, Do you know how to waltz and Lazy. I think they might be one of those bands who are bigger in Europe than the US but if they come near you I can't recommend them highly enough.

The next few days features

Caleb Caudle
Colter Wall
Neko Case

How's this for a week of shows in Seattle:
5/20 & 21 Neil Young & POTR
5/22 The Stones
5/23 & 24 Tedeschi Trucks Band

Not to mention the Dimmer Twins 5/10 & 11.

Eesh! I'm going to Dimmer Twins on 5/11 & The Stones on 522. Would love to see Neil but I have to save my energy & focus for the Stones. Just don't have the energy for multiple shows during work week. Pulling off 1 is a challenge & most likely taking Stones day & day after off. Budgetary considerations play a part too. Neil is expensive this time & we won't even talk about the Stones. I did get lucky with them though. Got good seats on a presale for standard price in the front of the upper deck. Wish Neil was playing another week. I am holding out hope that either Neil or TTB open for the Stones. They both have open dates that day. TTB seems more likely but 1 can dream...

i saw Jon Spencer last night. for the encore, Julie Cafritz got on stage... Since Bob Bert was already on stage, all we needed was Neil Hagerty for a full-on Pussy Galore reunion. they blasted out 3 or 4 PG songs, including "Fuck You, Man" twice. it was pretty awesome.

I was going to see the Nels Cline 4 Wednesday night but unfortunately we're getting the once a decade winter storm in Seattle. This weekend & week Bob Seger, Michelle Obama & Justin Timberlake have all cancelled. I'm doubting that Nels is even going to make it to town. If he does, the roads are just too bad to drive to a show. Another snow storm hit last night & another is coming tonight. in a word, ugh! in the past week, we've got more snow than we usually get in an entire year. definitely not a good thing with the RA. world of hurt.

I caught Fleetwood Mac this weekend. Heck of a show. Mike Campbell seemed to play way looser than I ever saw him with the Heartbreakers.

Neil FInn looked like he was having time of his life. The attention is way over due IMHO.
