Who's Everyone Seeing Live?

Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

if so, swing by the merch table, buy some swag, and tell Ethan or Meg or Charlie or Noel that Tim says hello. i love those people and the music they make.

That was four days ago, but yes they did, and yes I did. Except the part about mentioning you.
The evening was Heron Oblivion, Thurston Moore, then Parquet Courts.

Went with my son to World Cafe Live last night to see Tyler Childers. Fun show and man does he have a great band - especially the guitar/pedal steel guy and the guitar/fiddle guy, those two dudes can really play. Childers himself is a squirrelly dude - a mumbler of words and has a slightly demented look to him. For his encore, he came out and his band started laying down the groove to Tom Petty's "Breakdown." But instead of singing, Childers went into an extended joke about a 12 inch tall genie in a bar with a million ducks. Then when he got to the punch line, that was it, show over. Gotta say it was an original way to end a show. Nice to have a night out with my boy, also nice to see some familiar faces in the crowd: Nutfat and Vincent from 3dd, also C Nagy and J Reed were there.

Upcoming shows currently on my calendar:
Hood/Cooley @ Princeton U
DBT in Wilmington, DE
DBT in Philly
Courtney Barnett in May
Also possibly Earthless next month if I can swing it (nutfat was giving me the hard sell last night)

My buddies saw Lucero last night and said:

"Felt like I was at a Buckshot show at The Eagle waiting for the line dancing to start. No mas."

"Lots of ballads....apparently Ben was feeling melancholy about his gandmother's death this week....the crowd was interesting....made a Truckers crowd look like Ivy Leaguers."

Oh well.
