Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?
I was happy to see Patterson Hood on Thursday night with some wonderful Heathens.
Due to having one late night already this week, I was debating about seeing Drivin’ and Cryin’ tonight. I finally decided to pull the trigger about an hour ago, but the show has sold out.
Good for DNC and maybe good for me in regard to work tomorrow!

Wow, Peter Case. Haven't thought about (or listened to him) in some time, but damn I really like his stuff. Will have to get on that. Enjoy the show!

Will be my third time seeing play this house. At past concerts he hung out afterwards and inevitably ended up talking about Buffalo Bills. Wonder if he’ll bring up McDermottbeantownbubba wrote: ↑Fri Dec 08, 2023 11:01 amWow, Peter Case. Haven't thought about (or listened to him) in some time, but damn I really like his stuff. Caught the Dexateens with Taylor Hollingsworth on stage last night at Saturn in Birmingham. Three guitars was a hell of a lot of fun.
I've not been to many shows lately, and my legs felt it last night. I'm gonna have to get in better shape for Homecoming---maybe go stand in my driveway for a few hours every night to get my show legs back.

Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?
Excited for this show on Friday. I go every year, and its consistently one of my favorite shows of the year. The mystery band is full of talent - Lloyd Maines, Richard Bowden, Glen Fukunaga, Charlie Sexton, heartthrob Shannon McNally, Buka and Bale Allen. It's also a mystery who will show up! In the past I've seen Joe Ely, Ryan Bingham, David Byrne, Dave Alvin....it goes on. Heard rumors that Alejandro Escovedo ill be joining this year. Terry Allen is a national treasure.

Is that the same Richard Bowden who grew up with and played in bands with Don Henley ?
Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?
Yep.
He does not play often but man, he sure is great.
There is a short, love letter style doc on Apple+ (I think) called everything for all reasons. It centers around the annual show in Austin. Worth a watch.
Come down next year for the show. This time of year, every year.

Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?
His biography is about to be released and they seem to be pushing it pretty hard on social media. I'm hoping he does a few dates late this spring and into the summer as part of the promotion.pearlbeer wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2024 11:17 pmYep.

For the last few summers I've tried to work a vacation around seeing him in Sante Fe, but it hasn't worked out.
Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?
Just scored tickets for Hoodoo Gurus in September. Very inexpensive @ $32. Saw them a year ago & they were still killer live. An old favorite for me from way back.

Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?
I had hoped to go see 49 Winchester in Memphis last night, but I hiked over ten miles yesterday and had blisters all over my feet and was exhausted. I also couldn’t find anyone to go with me, and I didn’t feel like making the hour drive to Memphis alone.
I may have mentioned before, but 49 Winchester is from the part of va where I interned and worked for a year after grad school.
