For now all I can say is WOW!!! Last night was spectacular, truly stellar Neil. It may take a day or two for my brain to recover. Like I told LBRod this morning when we went our separate ways, we left everything on the field the last two days in Fresno. It was indeed The Big Time. It was a true honor to be there, I feel very fortunate to be able to be there for the return, especially when surrounded by so many dear friends. And now LBRod is an honorary Rustie (members of the Neil Young listserve The Rust List)!

Cool to see some Broken Arrow songs get the love. Underappreciated record.

Fixed that for ya, tin, and ditto, roland. hang in there. I'm at that stage where i know a lot of people in the same boat and based on everything I've seen and heard you will hopefully be on the upswing w/in a few months of the surgery.
thanks btb.

shows the dangers of making a post a minute of two later while relying on my short term memory.

I can’t get the thunderous closing riffs to Big Time our of my head!

Agree on Broken Arrow as an album, and the 96 tour with CH is legendary, truly insane, epic Neil!!!

Love that album. Hopefully it gets reissued on vinyl soon.

Absolutely no complaints about what they played in Fresno, but still, I was hoping against hope for some Sleeps with Angels stuff (Change Your Mind, Trans Am, Drive By, POC would all have made me float away blissfully)

Do the comparisons I've read to the Stop Making Sense tour hold true? It looks cool, but from the video I've seen, not THAT cool.

At the risk of double secret probation, I've never watched "Stop Making Sense," but last night was good! The performance was almost a stage show and a concert!

alvvays/frankie rose tomorrow night. i saw alvvays in october and that was enough for me (they were great but i rarely see bands multiple times anymore, especially not on the same album cycle) but my girlfriend has gotten into them and a sold out show released a few more tickets. curious to see how those extra months on the road (and a bigger venue) affect things, and the one frankie rose album ive heard sounds like itll fit nicely as an opener

my only other definite at the moment is nick cave in october. never seen him and its a nice GA venue so that should be cool.

hop along/bat fangs, malkmus, sons of kemet, the jesus lizard have all piqued my interest for the next few months but ive really lost a lot of enthusiasm for live shows so who knows if i'll make it to any of them

5/4 Demilich/Blood Incantation/Artificial Brain - This show was really good. I had only seen Demilich before (one of the best sets I've ever witnessed at Maryland Death Fest) and they were terrific again. The 2 openers were also high quality.
5/8 Alice In Chains/Walking Papers
5/12 Fu Manchu/Mos Generator

Been anticipating this for a while now. (Since HC to be more specific. That was a great opening act.)

My family scheduled a vacation that conflicts with Nelsonville Music Festival. I haven't been in several years, but now that the vacation is booked an paid for, they are teasing me with daily artist announcements that make it sound awesome:

this was fantastic. i thought frankie rose was solid but really wished she had a proper drummer. programmed beats are fine and work well with her songs but on stage it was a bit limp. nice video projections though

alvvays got so much better since october. not sure how much was the better venue and how much was the experience of playing the newer songs for months, but theyre a much stronger live act. as for their songs themselves, it feels like theres at least half a dozen different directions the band could go and any of them would be special. cant wait

got tickets to see gruff rhys in october this morning. not sure if he'll be solo or with a backing band but i havent seen him in a while so im excited
