Who's Everyone Seeing Live?

Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

Sadly was not impressed by Foo Fighters last night. Krist Novoselic's new band was opener 1 & were terrible. Krist did come out with Foos for a great "Molly's Lips" & that was by far best part of the show. Opener 2 was the Joy Formidable & they were really good even though their sound wasn't. I would go to 1 of their shows. Back to the Foos, 10-15 minute versions of their songs just wasn't working for me. As a guitar player, Dave is a great drummer. Maybe they would be better at a festival where they needed to keep things more concise. It was the Dave & Taylor show, the rest of the band seemed a bit disengaged. I knew I was in trouble when in a jam early on they went into "Soul Sacrifice". See earlier comment about guitar prowess....

Solo. First time I've seen him and he was the real deal. Lived up to expectations and then some. Smart, charming, cutting, funny, amazing songs with poetic lyrics, incredible guitar work, and he sang the shit out of his songs. I was 99% impressed (1% deducted for the beret and acid washed denim vest). I've never seen so many white folks in their 50's and 60's having so much fun at 12:00 noon. Thanks to my ex-sister in law for the sold-out ticket.

Was supposed to be at Folly Beach (SC coast) for the week but Florence has other ideas. Back home now. Silver lining #1--mandatory evac order gets me a refund. Silver lining #2 & #3--Get to see Richard Buckner tomorrow and Malcolm Holcombe on Thursday in a small club
Always go to the show

Malcolm, another Ashevillian!!!

Malcolm is from Asheville, where I was born and lived for 23 years, and Richard lived here in Chico for years, and rumor says he may be moving back here before too long

First time I saw them, they opened with the full 22 minute “The Tain”. Don’t know if they’ll ever top that

Great show last night. I went back and looked at the set list from last time I saw them, and there were only two songs they played at both shows. Can’t be mad at that many changes in the list

Great show and a packed house. John is touring with a drummer for the first time in many, many years.

He opened with Six O'clock News and if he'd have walked off after that I'd have been satisfied.

Nice! Check out Rays son Lucas on guitar.

I scored a pair of balcony tickets last night to Neil Young solo at the tower theater in 10 days. I've seen Neil a bunch of times, including at the tower when Harvest Moon came out in 92, but it's been a while. I think Greendale might be the last tour I saw. Really looking forward to it. Also upcoming is the Bottle Rockets, Lucinda Williams, and P Hood. And maybe my girl Courtney Barnett.
