Hopefully getting tickets for Spiritualized in a very small theater today. The show is early next year. 1 of my favorite bands. Depending on cost, possibly getting tickets for Nick Mason's Saucer Full of Secrets tomorrow. I'm betting it will be too rich for my blood though. I looked at tix for Steve Hackett & it was the better part of $100 to sit way up in the balcony, over $100 for the main floor. Reluctant pass. Hackett would be a hard sell to get someone to go with me. Given my recent health, going solo isn't a super good idea.

Yep. I got the tickets. Tiny theater. It wasn't super expensive but high for a club/theater show. About $55 tickets including "service charge". I'm psyched! I have an amazing tape from the troubadour 2019. stunning & they don't even do "cop shoot cop". the show is in april here. do it! have you listened to the remasters that have been coming out? worth the effort.

Going for tickets today (@ 7:00 AM!) for Amyl & the Sniffers in May. Tiny club & inexpensive. This band is unreal good. Think there's something in the water in the great southland.

The tour isn't too long. Reports are they are phenomenal live. Looks like they are skipping Boston at this point but are playing NYC, Baltimore & Philadelphia. I listen to a real lot of music from Australia & New Zealand. Quite excited about this show & the Beths in February. At this point in my life I'm avoiding the larger shows (with a few exceptions). I prefer clubs & theaters. Since I'm on a fixed income, the small shows are much more budget friendly.

Attended my first show since pre-covid at this very cool venue in Oslo yesterday. Motorpsycho with Reine Fiske (of Dungen) sitting in on guitars and mellotron through the whole thing. They kept it going for a good 2 hours 30 minutes and picked songs from allover the catalogue. So good, and great to finally get to experience live music again.

Strong work, Bill. I just did the 3 night run...DBT/DBT/Stones. I survived, but barely. That is a lot of rock for these old bones (and liver).

Caught Terry Allen's ACL taping this week, which was fucking great. Two night Todd Snider run next week!

Saw Patty Griffin at World Cafe Live in Philly a few nights ago. Never saw her before. It was a pretty mellow affair. Her guitar player David Pulkingham was phenomenal. They covered Jungleland in the encore which was pretty cool.

Gonna hopefully head out tonight to see Courtney Barnett.

Lilly Hiatt w/ The Harmaleighs at the Pour House in Raleigh, NC on Saturday. This will be my first show in just over two years. The last was Lydia Loveless in January 2020 as part of a benefit for the Australian Wildfires at Cat's Cradle Back Room in Carrboro. All things being equal hopefully the next show will be DBT's at Cat's Cradle in May. I haven't seen them since February 2019 at the Ritz in Raleigh. This is the longest I've gone without seeing them since my first show at Waterloo Records during SXSW 2001.

Scored tickets yesterday to see Allison Russell at City Winery in NYC next month. The show is sold out but I'd signed up for the waiting list and got an email from the venue yesterday. Super psyched about this one.
