Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit with Amanda Shires last night. Even with a new bass player, the band is still incredibly tight and put on an awesome show. Outfit got a funny intro about Jason’s time with DBT. Will Johnson has been an awesome addition to the band on this tour.

I saw them at Hardly Strictly for the first time since like 2010. Made me really want to make a point of catching a full-length set as soon as I can.

Ya, I ended up not being able to make it due to some health stuff. Gave the tickets to some friends & they enjoyed it. I'm having a week long test starting Wednesday for a spinal implant. Very minor surgery. If it works, things get uglier (bone saw) & I'll be in the hospital for a few days soon. Also, have been on a 2 month test for an exotic RA medicine. Going to discontinue that. Not helping & bad side effects (reason for not going to show). Getting old isn't for the meek. Wilco proved my night 2 theory again. The last night of a multi night stand is usually the best in my experience. I've seen Wilco a lot so it doesn't sting too much missing the show. "A man's got to know his limitations" Dirty Harry in Magnum Force.

Fun show and I'm glad I went even though my wife and I ended up with some of the worst seats in the house. Back row of the lower level with two polls right in front of us. Between those polls and the balcony overhang I didn't see Jason very much. That's my fault though. I should have looked into the tickets more before I bought them.
Downtown was a complete circus when after the show. I'm swearing it off again.
