Some of us do, just not for Wilco.Zip City wrote:That said, it was a very old crowd, with a lot of people I would peg to be in their early 60's or older, and those folks don't come out for the GA standing only shows.

Enjoy I did, even though I am not a big fan of the new album they played a lot of choice songs and a couple favorites from a Ghost is Born. The new venue here in Denver was fantastic, I highly recommend seeing any band people may like at the Mission Ballroom.Zip City wrote:nice, enjoy!walthers wrote:Wilco this Tuesday night.

Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?
Been a busy seven days for me: Bob Dylan on campus at Penn State last Friday, Chris Knight solo at World Cafe Live the other night and Sarah Shook & the Disarmers last night at Milkboy in Philly.
Was in State College for the football game last weekend and Bob's fall college tour had him playing on campus at Eisenhower Auditorium on Friday night. Went with my buddy Gary and we had pretty decent seats. The show was typically challenging, you could even call it a grind. His voice, the arrangements, etc. Was a treat just to watch him play guitar and piano and especially to see him blow the harp on simple twist of fate and others. His band is super tight. Note: Pretty sure that the last time I was in Eisenhower Auditorium was to see George Carlin in 1987 or 88.
Was my first time seeing Chris Knight and I thought it was pretty special. His songs are so good and he played pretty much everything you'd want to hear. It was a feisty crowd in a small, mostly seated venue. People were shouting stuff out and while Chris handled it professionally you could tell he didn’t like it. He refused to sing a song that people were calling for (Undone, I think) and while I think it pissed a few folks off, Chris clearly didn't give a shit. He didn’t return for an encore after the main set. Was great to run into Scratch and catch up with him for a few minutes - his friend Linda had hooked me up with the ticket at the last minute.
Was my first time seeing Shook since about 18 months ago when she played a tiny neighborhood bar in Manayunk. She got pretty fucked up that night and it was a great and wild show. Fast forward to last night and she is (I believe) five months sober and cigarette free, and you could tell. She looked and sounded great and her band is super road-tested and tight. Fun show.
