Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?
With a little research, I've found that it's My Morning Jacket but not being overly familiar with that band I wouldn't have recognized it right away. So, what would have been the matter with labeling the setlist as such for those, like myself that may not be all that familiar with them? More hipster posturing at 3DD like refusing to caption photos of artists not all of us may recognize as well as refusing to do the same for albums with no title or artist listed as part of the artwork. What would it take, another 5 seconds to include a caption? Want to help turn other folks on to music you like? It'd be helpful not to be so fucking stealth about it. At least that's my take on it.Zip City wrote:If you don't know by the set list...

Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?
So, it's cool with you to post setlists, album covers and photos of musicians without giving any sort of credit as to who they are? If part of the purpose of posting such things is to help spread the word about them what is the point in leaving that very vital bit of information out of the post? To show how fucking hipster someone is?linkous wrote:Somebody needs more than a cookie

I have no idea what a hipster is. Perhaps it those goddamned cultural differences again?
Apart from all that, perhaps you should chill out a bit instead of attempting to antagonise people, like you have done with at least two people today (maybe more, haven't read all your posts).

Kudzu, just curious... what is it about Zip that makes you think he's hipster?Kudzu Guillotine wrote:More hipster posturing at 3DDZip City wrote:If you don't know by the set list...

based on what we DIDN'T get on Night One of MMJ, I'm guessing we'll get a good handful of the following tonight:
One Big Holiday
Dondante
Run Thru
Touch Me Pt. 2
Big Decisions
Spring
Wordless Chorus
Wonderful
Victory Dance

King Sunny Ade!! Freakin alsum!! Saw him 2x back in the day. The second one was merely excellent. But that first one, omg, absolutely blew the mother fuckin roof off. I've been less sweaty after a steam bath.

MMJ Night TWO
100% different set list than night one, but I thought night one was better over all. Last night got sort of bogged down with slow songs in the middle. Also, no Dondante in either show
1. Spring (Among the Living)
2. The Dark
3. X-Mas Curtain
4. First LIght
5. Wordless Chorus
6. Off the Record
7. Like a River
8. Wonderful (The Way I Feel)
9. It's Twilight Now
10. Aluminum Park
11. I Will Sing You Songs
12. Knot Comes Loose
13. Only Memory Remains
14. Touch Me Pt. 2
15. Phone Went West
E.
16. Victory Dance
17. Holdin On to Black Metal
18. Anytime
19. One Big Holiday

Hmmm, maybe KG is right. I don't come on here much anymore but we have had many "interactions" involving Dire Straits. Thanks for making me question my own existence. BTB? Clams? Recap of the final night of Phil Cook's three night stand at Duke Gardens in Durham. If you only watch one of these videos, I recommend the one of them covering Willis Alan Ramsey's "Northeast Texas Women". Amelia Meath of Sylvan Esso really shines here, as she did all night.
