First thing I have to say here (finally) is that I really dig the new record. Second thing I have to say is this: Does anyone notice that the track "Jimmy Johns" sounds like a Primus/Claypool number- maybe a Brown Album outtake, perhaps?

Not since SCOTS "Dig This" have I enjoyed an album so much. TH is definatly my favorite album of the year.
So glad we made the trip to Chicago and Madison last year but then again the Dexateens is what sealed the deal.

Teenage Hallelujah is the perfect album for walking through New Brunswick drunk from a show at the Court. As much as I love American Band, this is my fav album of 2016.

Approximate set list for Saturday's show in Anniston:

Pine Belt Blues
Teenage Hallelujah
Makers Mound
Settle Down
Cardboard Hearts
Bleeding Heart Disease
Old Rebel
Madeline
Teenager w/AJ Haynes from the Seratones

I say approximate becuz that's strictly off the top of my head. The stage was in the street and it got rained out (just like the DBT show in Avondale last month, I was absolutely soaked by showtime) so they moved some tables and set up in the corner of a fancy restaurant; it was epic, no stage, reminiscent of that video from Minneapolis earlier in the thread. I was about a foot from Matt and by the end of the set Elliott was knocking tiles out the ceiling with the mic and Bo was playing with his torso inside the ceiling.

We left before St. Paul and the Broken Bones but the Seratones and 'teens were more than worth it. The kids also got to meet Elliott, Matt and Brian so they were stoked. Amazing night.

I mean it was nice to catch a glimpse into that world but excellent? You didn't find that interview kind of depressing?
They are in the middle of a law suit which he can't speak about, they have two records in the can (three if you count Rattler) and it doesn't really seem like there are any concrete plans to release any of them, their touring vehicle is dead and still in GA and as a result there aren't any shows on the calendar, and he ended everything by saying that he isn't interested in seeing bands or playing in bands right now.
Woof.

I have recently marked the Teenage Hallelujah vinyl down to $10.
I guess the band is sadly all but defunct (again) at this point, so movement on these is very slow, as you would expect.
That said, I have a lot of copies that I need to get rid of.
Grab one for you & a friend.

Orders are shipping all the time and often include bonus freebie stuff - stickers, extra DL codes, maybe even an extra record, etc.

This band going defunct is indeed a shame. It's been a pleasure listening to their stuff, for what- I guess the better part of a decade? If it wasn't for DBT, I probably would've never heard of them. Have most of their albums (don't have their first?) and still give most a decent amount of play from time to time.

Matt played me a few songs off a new record, maybe about a year ago, is that one completely shelved now?

I honestly have no idea.
I hope not!
But that podcast that Elliott was on a few months ago did not sound promising.

Everything dex-related is stuck in limbo until the lawsuit is settled.

It's got to do with some documentary and unauthorized use afaik. Don't know the specifics.

Ah. Too bad.
Rough time to be a Dexateens fan I guess.
But might as well still celebrate them because why not? They slay.
$10 for the LP! Grab one! You won't find a better deal than that!

Also I can confirm that the RATTLER LP fucking rips.

Nice interview with Patton on The Alabama Take podcast. Posting it here as it focuses mostly on Dexateens and Model Citizen , but there is DBT-talk as well.

Looking forwrd to seeing the dexateens open for the truckers next week in Athens. Would anyone be willing to make me a list of 20 or so songs that they'll probably draw from in next week's set?
