Going to the show in Philly tonight. This is my third time seeing them. I think it is only the second time they have played Philly. I can't wait. Thanks for all the stuff everyone has posted. The Dexateens are one of my favorite bands. I love the early Dexateens that someone posted. Have any of you every listened to Arkadelphia. That is Lee's other band. I have a live recording of one of there shows. It is amazing. Arkadelphia has a my space page.

Check out those 3 videos. The band goes and checks out an abandoned mental hospital to see what they can find. Very interesting stuff....

Arkadelphia doesn't exist anymore as far as I know. I saw Lee a couple of weeks ago and he said that his new band, THE GLORY FIRES, has already cut a new album. I can't wait to hear that. They opened for Glossary a week or so ago in Birmingham, but I didn't get to make the drive down there.

Also, I HIGHLY SUGGEST seeing the Dexateens live if you get the chance. You won't regret it.

As far as "Destroy Me" goes, it's on What if you have access. If not, I can probably whip something up for you guys. 8-)

My music collection has just grown by 5. Thanks for the great write-up, dime. I sure hope you get a cut of the profits. :)

Care to elaborate?

'Bama punk rock translated well to the home of such prestigious institutions as Harvard University & M.I.T. Boys took the stage just before 11:30pm and treated the near-capacity crowd to 1 1/2 hours of ear-bleeding, ass-shaking, fist-pumping, soak-through-your-t-shirt rock. Couldn't hear a single vocal all night. Didn't matter. Three guitar attack. Goofy, but cool as hell, bassist. Nut job of a drummer. Setlist was poached from their site above. Highlights (to my sore ears) were Makers, Teenager, and Speedway. Great group of guys. Very friendly. Very appreciative. Said their next album was "in the can". Best $10 (yes, I said TEN FUCKING DOLLARS) I've spent in a long, long time. Took two Dexavirgins to the show and they left 1/2 deaf, sweaty, drunk, smiling, and converted. My ears were fluid-infested for a good 24 hours after the show. Enough elaboration?

Are those old Dexateens 4-Track Dump songs still up online anywhere?

Didn't see anything on their site but I'm not too savvy when it comes to internet nooks and crannies.

If not, I'd be happy to upload them for anyone who missed out on 'em.

They were all free releases through their old site, so it shouldn't be a problem spreadin' them around.

Craig Gates (this is his website) was one of their guitarists when they first formed, and a good friend of mine from Montgomery, AL dating back to the late '80s. I didn't know until about a week ago, though, that he played in the Dexateens back in the day. Blew my mind - then he sent me this link.

Says that "Teenager" is a true story based on a real girl, for what it's worth.

Pretty ragged stuff, but you can see what was to come...

No, the stuff I have is only 5 songs. All demos done 4-track style.

In no particular order:

1. Altar Blues
2. Art of Lies
3. The Battle and the Long Long Ballad of the Red Headed Girl
4. Kid
5. You're Gonna Love Me
